Unfortunately, as with most events that require some sort of social gathering, cancellation has been the order of the day. The same goes with the 2020 Mindemoya Classic. In fact, all events for the Central Manitoulin Lion’s Club’s, Homecoming Weekend have been put off until 2021. Organizers, Al and Andre hope everyone can stay safe, stay fit and we hope to see you next year.
The 2019, 18th edition of the Mindemoya Classic was once again, as near to a perfect day as possible! Although a few canoers that tipped over may not agree with that assessment. The wind did slow down the overall times but did not affect the fun factor!?
Congratulations to the overall, fastest time winner, the four-person relay squad: Team Chuddies, featuring Justin Leale, Tamara Flanagan, Matt Leale and Sarah McIlraith. The team needed only 1:21:59 to finish the some, 21.5 kilometers of our run, paddle and pedal triathlon!
We hope to see you on June 28th for the 19th, Mindemoya Classic!
The Mindemoya Classic is a run, canoe and bike triathlon for singles or teams of two or four – do it as a relay or in the all or nothing endurance division. Whether you want to beat a personal time, beat a team of your friends or just finish your leg of the relay, the Mindemoya Classic has a challenge for everyone.
Register today for $25 per person or $20 per person if participating as a family. Race day registration prices are $30 and $25 respectively! Remember, teams of four need at least one member of the opposite sex.
Join us at the Government Dock on the morning the event, followed by a prize give away. Race-day registration is from 8:00 to 9:00 AM and the race starts at 9:30. *This event is supported by the Central Manitoulin Lions Club as part of its annual Homecoming Weekend.
